2014-09-03 - Green River Lake - Photo by Bud Mirus. Park Rangers handed out two very popular items to kids at the 27th Annual Green River Lake Volunteer Cleanup. Park Ranger Jessica Grinnel, left, holds the "Bobber" Coloring Book. Bobber is the Corps mascot. In the center, as everyone who knows the history of history in Adair County know, is Summer Park Ranger Gary Curry. And at right is Park Ranger Andrea O'Bryan. Organization is underway now for the cleanup. And Boat Drivers are urgently needed. The Green River Lakeshore clean up grows each year. Last year, more than 500 volunteers came to help, but they were handicapped by lack of boats to get them to and from clean designations. If you can help these volunteers clean up the lakeshore you enjoy so much, call Andrea O'Bryan at 270-465-4463. The US Army Corps of Engineers' 28th Annual Volunteer Lakeshore Cleanup will be held on Saturday September 20, 2014 this year. Registration and trash pickup are from 8am-11amCT/9am-12pm noon ET. Clicking Read More accesses the lists of locations in Adair and Taylor Counties where volunteers can join the cleanup.
