Archery seasons for deer and wild turkey open this Saturday, September 6, 2014. The good weather conditions this fall point toward productive archery hunting for these species. Kentucky hunters harvested a record 144,409 deer during the 2013-2014 deer seasons. Kevin Kelly

Fire early Friday morning destroys ambulance

Patient safely removed before fire destroys Yellow Ambulance - The Columbia Fire Department responded to an ambulance fire Friday morning, September 5, 2014, at 12:57amCT, at Summit Manor Nursing Home 400 Bomar Heights. The ambulance was taking a patient to the nursing home when fire was discovered. The patient was removed safely and ambulance was destroyed by fire.
