Re-Visit Knifley - and take a heavenly taste home
2014-09-08 - The Olde Town Cafe (formerly Knifley Grade Center), 12190 Knifley Road, Knifley, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. Ed & Shirley Brown of Neat Hollow Road, Little Cake/Ella in Adair County, got two of the last BBQ Rib Dinners served at Old Towne Cafe on Re-Visit Knifley Day. Mr. Brown's niece, Malinda Quinn and Melinda's husband Randy Quinn are the proprietors of the Olde Town Cafe, which is now open first Saturdays each month, 3pm-9pmCT. The BBQ was the work of Jeff Feese, and was considered by many to be the best they had ever eaten. The way Ed Brown was holding onto the food boxes, nearly the last one served, one would have likely had to fight the both of them to take it away. (PS - Linda and I shared the last two boxes, intending to take most of the ribs home for a late supper. The servings were huge, the barbecue lasted to New Hope Separate Baptist Church, in Ella. Should have gotten a photo. Hope someone did.) - EW
