Town Creek Project Overview: State is moving ahead
2014-09-09 - From Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener . Much has already happened on this corner. Using the powers of eminent domain, the Columbia Cemetery Board, with funds from a private citizen, was able to raze the Old Parson House seen above on the left edge of the photo. Another project apparently hinges on the Old Parson House property, again. A project changing the course of Town Creek needs only an easement to cross the property to get underway. The project was first advocated by Adair County Judge Ann Melton, who worked with State Senator Sarah Beth Gregory. An accompanying news story from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says that the project will be happening soon, indicating that cabinet believes that the easement will soon be obtained.
