Cards and letters on their way to injured firefighters
 2014-09-10 - Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener. Campbellsville University Student Services hosted a card signing event for the injured firefighters so students could send their get well messages and good wishes. Above, holding a few of the cards behind the prayer request banner, are the Taylor County firemen who will take those messages to Captain Tony Grider and Alex Quinn in their evening trip to the hospital. From left are: Captain Chris Taylor, Chief Kyle Smith, and firefighter Aaron Fields. Grider and Quinn are reported to be making small positive steps with a long journey ahead of them.

Terry L. Ervin arrested in Pulaski Co. theft charges
 2014-09-10 - Somerset, KY - Photo From Pulaski Co. Sheriffs Office. A Columbia man, Terry L. Ervin, 26, Grider Road, Columbia, KY, was arrested on a warrant in Pulaski County on September 4, 2014, and lodged in the Pulaski County Jail. The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who has bought any type of utility trailer from Ervin to contact the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office at 606-678-5145. An investigation is continuing in Somerset into other thefts in the area.

Barney Taylor teaches Oxy-Acetylene cutting of steel
 2014-09-10 - ACHS, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia KY - Photo From Alan W. Reed, Superintendent. Barney Taylor, new Welding/Metal Fabrication instructor at Adair County High School, explains the proper layout for Oxy-Acetylene cutting of steel. The students were working in a demonstration area in the VoAg compound while the construction of the new Technology Center was going on in the background. Construction of the new facility is expected to be complete near the end of October. An open house and tours of the new center along with the neighboring Vo-Ag facility and Health Career Occupations will be announced. Adair County High School students are now enrolled in one of 39 career paths leading to state and/or industry certification prior to graduation. Ramp Closure, I-65 at Clermont Sept 12-15

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists that the exit ramp from southbound Interstate 65 to KY 245 at Clermont (Exit 112) will be closed this weekend for concrete pavement repairs. This ramp is scheduled for closure from 9pmET on Friday, September 12 until 5amET on Monday, September 15.
