KY Color: Grey Squirrel bombs from residence in Loblolly Pine
2014-09-15 - Green Hills, Columbia, KY - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District Forester, KY State Division of Forestry. There is a Squirrel of the Grey variety dining high up in my Loblolly Pine Trees. . . . It matters not to me what he eats but I sure would love for him to eat in trees under which I'm not working. Those heavy, green pine cones that I'm sure he just "accidently" drops can be quite damaging to heads and shoulders not to mention the disconcerting aspect of being bombarded by an animal inferior to the human species. Columbian Theatre: Icon of wonderful old days at movies
2014-09-15 - By the Fountain, Downtown, Columbia, KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The WAVE 92.7. Taken in black and white with my Canon Rebel, after enjoying a Deluxe Hamburger platter at Moore's and visiting with the Moore family. On the way out, I looked up and thought about what this great landmark has meant to our community - and took this B&W to convey a what a grand place it was when Mikki Flowers' grandfather built and through the years her parents, Charles and Yvonne Marshall operated it. It still can be. Wouldn't downtown Columbia be a great place to have dinner and a movie? Of course local laws would need to change to catch up to offer all that enjoyable dinners now offer in neighboring communities. - Larry Smith, Operations manager, Shoreline Communications
