(Ad) Josh Brockman, Republican for Adair Co. Sheriff
2014-09-26 - Columbia, KY - Photo campaign family. To the Citizens of Adair County,
I am thankful to introduce myself to you as a candidate for Sheriff of Adair County. I am the son of Larry (Chuck) and Cathy Brockman. I have been married 13 wonderful years to Amy Sneed Brockman, daughter of Gary (Archie) and Geneva Sneed. We have been lifelong residents of Adair County, where we raise our three sons, Leighton, Gavin and Camden. We attend Bethany Baptist Church and take great joy in raising our family in a Christian home.
I began my career in law enforcement as an Adair County Deputy Sheriff in 2001 and graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Police Academy in 2002. Since that day I have completed over 1300 hours of instruction in police studies and application covering areas such as drug interdiction, accident and criminal investigations, interviews, community policing, leadership, and criminal patrol. Over the past 12 years I have trained at the city, county and state levels. I am currently employed as a patrol officer with the Columbia Police Department where I also serve as the Firearms Instructor and Public Information Officer. In addition to my duties as an officer I have served our community for eleven years as a volunteer firefighter, currently work part-time as a KY licensed EMT and operate our family farm with my father and brother in the Clayridge Community of Adair County.
If given the chance to serve you as your Sheriff I will:
- Serve always in a fair and courteous manner.
- Work with the youth of our community and educate them about the dangers of drugs and the impact of crimes on society.
- Investigate all crimes against persons and property.
- Work to recover financial loss for business owners.
- Patrol the county. Statistics show crime rates decrease with police patrol present.
- I believe in our Constitution and will not support or participate in any act that infringes upon these rights, especially the Right To Bear Arms. As an avid hunter I intend on preserving these rights for my children to enjoy as they go through life. Gun control only takes guns out of law abiding citizens hands. I cannot and will not accept that.
- Retain employees. There are no plans to change any of the staff. Here lately there have been rumors of new hires. I have no intentions of removing anyone who is performing what is expected of them.
- Manage a balanced budget.
- Always have an open door policy.
When making your choice for Sheriff I ask for you to please consider my experience, qualifications and standards. As an academy trained officer and having over 12 years experience, I promise if elected to run the most efficient Sheriff's office I can. I will serve the community with the upmost respect, honesty and professionalism. I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can but please forgive me if I miss you at your home or an event as my work schedule is a rotating shift and not always forgiving. I humbly ask for your support and vote in November 2014 for Sheriff of Adair County.
Paid for by Josh Brockman, Candidate for Adair County Sheriff
