This Jar Fly in spite of his, or her, impressive looking eyes surely misread the calendar. Jar Flies usually show up during Dog Days (circa middle of July to the middle of August) of Summer but this one seemed to be grounded in the Taylor County Bank parking lot by 50 degree temperatures and a cold rain in early October. Even though some cicadas can raise and lower their body temperatures, this one wasn't puttin' off any heat.
