Author Russell Lunsford: Benjamin Nathan Tuggle, Adventurer

From Hardin County, KY - Author Russell Lunsford, above with his very delightful book, Benjamin Nathan Tuggle [1914. iUniverse] about an Estill County, KY who discovers in 1976, that he has the ability to sometimes travel back in time. Lunsford is shown at the 3rd Annual Adair Genealogy, History & Book Fair, held Saturday 11 Oct 2014, in the Historic Adair County Courthouse. Lunsford is the author of Letters from a Captive Heart: America's Heartbreak in the POW camps of North Korea. [2007. iUniverse]. Lunsford is a graduate of WKU and now lives in Elizabethtown, KY.

The Moseleys with newest book: From George W to George W


2014-10-12 - Historic Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Former Columbians, Betty Jean Moseley, left and Rev. Doug Moseley were at the 3rd Annual Adair County Book Fair with copies of the book he co-authored with close friend Dick Troutman, "From George W to George W" the book about former presidents, including George Washington and George W Bush covers little known facts about our presidents during the period in the title. The book was printed in Columbia (PHOTO) by South Central Printing. Those who missed getting a copy can find them at Grimsley's Jewelry - along with many other locally authored books. Mrs. Moseley is a beloved retired English Teacher at Adair County High who inspired many to further study in literature and writing. Rev. Moseley is a former Kentucky State Senator, former pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, and was, for a time owner of The Men's Shop in Downtown Columbia. Last year the Moseleys donated their history research books to Lindsey Wilson College. STORY

Book Fair 2014 - Darlene Campbell with latest title

Darlene Campbell, Columbia, KY, held a copy of her latest book, "Looking for Pork Chop McQuade," at the 3rd Annual Adair Genealogy, History & Book Fair, held yesterday in the Historic Adair County Courthouse. In Local authors Mike Watson says of Darlene Campbell, "A most versatile artist, Mrs. Campbell is by profession a teacher of the youth of Adair County, but by night she is a super hero, walking on glass and more. Looking for Pork Chop McQuadeUncommon Clay; I Listened, Momma; Dragon's Heir; and Journey to Ak'ras. Her poetry has been included in numerous journals and anthologies."

Big Al is back on the road: Finds Alanreed, TX exit


2014-10-12 - Alanreed, TX - Photo by Big Al Owens, the Big Rig Trucker. Big Al Owens is on the road again as a big rig trucker. He just sent us this location, taken with his cellphone. The town was name for "Messrs. Alan and Reed," according to the Wikipedia entry for Alanreed, Texas, and account of the town which also notes it, earlier, was named Gouge Eye, for a fight there.

ACHS Volleyball Seniors honored for hard work

The Adair County Volleyball team
honored their seniors for all their hard work with flowers and these beautiful framed pictures. The team also went on to beat Cumberland County 2-1 and the JV won 2-0. Senior members of the team with their coach, Above, are #17 Kazandra Trejo, #16 Ashley Farmer, #00 Sarah Bault, Coach Michael Godsey, #14 Katelyn Moore, #6 Shayla Burton, #22 Harlee Smock. Everybody has one more chance to watch the these senionrs and the whole team in action at home on October 14, 2014, when they host Clinton County. The match starts at 5pmCT, Adair County High School's John Burr Memorial Gymnasium, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY.
