Adair County Vista: From Goodin Building to KY 206

2014-10-29 - Photo (c) ColumbiaMagazine.com. There's continuous living theatre continuously on stage from the Dr. Robert & Carol Goodin Building at Lindsey Wilson College. Above, cars can be seen coming over the hill on Liberty Road/KY 206/Burton Ridge/(occcasionally remembered in historic context as Stanford Road/and should, many think be designated in honor of Dr Goodin - it leads to his hometown, The Millerfields. The photo was taken Sunday, 26 Oct 2014, after Sunday dinner at Cranmer, a Graham/Evan/Hailey must-visit-while at Mema's and Granddads. For many, the short strolls around the campus after dinner is a special bonus. Today, there is more fall color, but in this one, Tiffany Kessler's 'Burning Tree' at the Adair County Fairground, her symbol of Fall stood out. The Goodin Building vantage point is also a great one for viewing the quick pace of construction on the new building on the Adair Extension Service campus, across Fairground Street from Lindsey Wilson College. - CM

Scenic Adair Co., KY: Why go to Smokeys?

2014-10-29 - KY 551, Adair Co., KY - Photo by George Rice, Jr.. Why drive to the Smokeys when you can see beauty like this on a Sunday Afternoon drive from Columbia to Knifley by Hwy. 551 in Adair County. Another prestigious view is to drive the Cumberland Park way from Columbia to the Edmonton exit in the morning hours of sunrise and also the same drive late in the afternoon back to Columbia, KY. - George Rice. PS - and the colors aren't expected to peak until late October/early November!
