The photo was taken at the Adair County courthouse annex after results pouring in indicated a big victory for the Democrat. A smooth transition has been assured by both outgoing CJE Ann Melton and the newly elected CJE Mike Stephens who had victories in all precincts except Little Cake, were he narrowly lost. Out of the frame were Jonathan and Jennie Begley and Katie who are Anita's son, his wife, and their daughter.

Mark Harris before vote tally with Magistrate (1) Harold Burton

Magistrate Harold Burton (R-District 7) had no worries about his election outside the Adair Annex as tabulation was proceeding in the Annex Basement, nor did sitting Mayor Mark D. Harris, right. Harris' easily won a spot on the six member City Council, with 678 vote, 12.74% of the vote. Along with Craig Lasley, he joins sitting Council Members Charles Grimsley, Craig Dean, Ron Rogers, and Linda Waggener on the six panel legislative body for the City of Columbia.
