Sun and Moon this morning from Tucker's Station Farms

2014-11-08 - 1535 Bull Run RD, Columbia, KY - Photo by Barbara Armitage.
It really didn't matter which way you looked this morning the sky was brilliant with color. The sunrise to the east was a beautiful beginning to the day and the moon set to the west was a wonderful curtain call to the night. This is why we get up so early at Tucker's Station Farms - that and the dogs yelling at us to get their breakfast ready... - BARBARA ARMITAGE

Dog and kid consider each other at Clifty Creek Farm

2014-11-08 - Clifty Creek Farm, Columbia, KY - Photo by Donna Rieder.
Laney Kiko Rieder and the pit bull lab mix, Ivy, consider each other, at Miss Donna Rieder's residence. At the time, Laney was a mature two week old baby, brought into the house because of a frigid weather outside. Laney was exiled from shortly afterward, though she hadn't done hardly anything - just leapt from the cat scratching post onto Miss Donna's glassed topped dining table. Didn't even break it! But for that minor breach she was capriciously banished. Something should be done. It's an animal case for the sheriff, for sure. We're hoping that Laney gets a second chance to help around Miss Donna's Homestyle Pet Boarding, a new Adair County business now open. Maybe not. Miss Donna offers gentle loving care for well-mannered pets ONLY, she says. And quite possibly Laney's manners are not yet cultured enough to gain admission, much less be on the staff. The phone number for the upscale pet boarding facility is 270-805-1527.
