Alhambra Theater, E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY

2014-11-11 - E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY - Photo from the collection of Larry Smith.
For a time, Campbellsville's Main Street was a mini-Louisville Fourth Street. Great department stores, small shops, the post office, Taylor County's best restaurants, churches, and more - including our own theatre district. The Alhambra Theater served the community for some 35 years before closing in the mid-fifties. Within a few yards, the community also had the Cozy Theater which closed later. I'd love to learn more about it. Got my start in show biz as a projectionist at the Skyline Drive-in in Summersville. - Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications Paired Photo.
