Novel warehouse built at Ed's Small Engines

2014-11-24 - Photo (c) ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Ed Pipalski, the owner of Ed's Small Engines, left, and Clay Jones, technician, are seen above in front of the innovative warehouse the company, with the help of Chester Taylor, Columbia, KY, finished on November 4, 2014 of this year. The building has appealing symmetry and was built in a most econonomical way. It has over 2,200 s.f. with 960 s.f. totally enclosed within the three 40' x 8' shipping containers which comprise the base and perimeter. A Farm Tech clear span, fabric covered arch building in the center, adds another 1,248 s.f. The building is positioned to take advantage of a an enclosed SW side, to give stored items greater protection against bad weather borne by prevailing winds. Conceivably, the building system could be adapted to a cozy residential situation with a little imagination, but not at the under $7.50 s.f. estimate for this building.
