Epicurean Kentuckian: Cheesecake - a little bit goes a long way

2014-11-28 - EK Kitchen - Photo (c) ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Take-home cheesecake goes a long way and can be played with many themes. The only must at this house: A mug of hot coffee. This sliver has chocolate syrup drizzle and is sprinkle with instant coffee - a poor man's mocha. Steve Chundy at Columbia's Harvest Cafe bakes as good a homemade cheesecake as can be found anywhere, and customizes it to taste with chocolate, raspberry and strawberry trimmed with whip cream. A very indulgent confection. - EK

Scenic Adair Co., KY - Russell Creek from E 80 bridge

2014-11-27 - Russell Road Bridge, Columbia, KY - Photo (c) ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Russell Creek from the bridge at the City Limit on Russell Road. This is one put-in place occasionally mentioned for a Trail Town USA paddle trail. It's also a great fishing and turtling area. Large strings of big catfish are taken here, as well as big strings of bream. If he hole in the bow has a name, we're unaware of it. Would like to know. - CM Photo taken late November 2014.
