Christmas in Columbia 2014 Float Entry Rule
2014-12-04 - 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Cathy Johnson. The Parade is shaping up to be the best ever. Already, Debbie Selby said, there are 60 units registered to be in the lineup. That compares to 56 in 2013. The parade will line up at the Morgan-Smith Mfg. plant on Industrial Drive. The floats will be judged there, and be given placards to display along the parade route. The veterans float will be at the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. As the parade from Industrial Drive approaches, the veterans float will go to the front. The parade will proceed North on Jamestown Street, where many of the best spots for watching from cars will be located. The parade will enter the Square on Jamestown Street circling three quarters of the square, and will go past the traditional review stand in front of the Adair Annex, where awards and prizes will be presented, announced by news personalities from The WAVE 92.7 and WAIN 93.5 and Columbia/Adair County Chamber officials. The procession will exit on Burkesville Street, still in formation to Guardian Street, where it will disband.

2014-12-04 - The Holler, Old Clearsprings Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne. For all the beauty of The Holler during daylight hours. There are just as many dark and scary moments, when night arrives. The creeks take on an entirely different feel, one which fills me with just as many emotions - just not as fuzzy as their day time versions. - Shamarie Claiborne
