Epicurean Kentuckian: Chicken Noodle Soup and Sandwich

2014-12-09 - Photo (c) ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Nice on a chilly December day. Lunch at Patty's today was home made chicken noodle soup with Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The soup is made with egg noodles, chunks of real chicken, and chicken stock, and a celery, onion, few carrots with light salt and secret seasoning. Salt content fit our taste - less is better. Patty's grilled cheese is called jumbo because she used two slices of American Cheese, between two buttered slices of Texas Toast. Heard one party say it was "the best she'd ever eaten." Pretty good for a 4.99 ticket.
At Patty's Liberty Road General Store & Deli. In the Village of Vester, (Adair County), 5097 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY 42728. Patty Smith Edwards, owner & manager. Phone 270-380-1039 Hours: 5am-7pmCT/6am-8pmET, Monday through Saturday. Closed Sundays. Smokers & Nonsmokers Welcome. (Open Grill MENU - (2013-08-31)
