City Council observes birthday of Dr. Ron Rogers

Before taking up the agenda at tonight's Columbia City Council meeting, Tuesday, December 23, 2014, Council Member Robert Flowers noted that those with December birthdays often get slighted because it the month of Christmas, and requested that Dr. Ron Rogers, whose birthday is today, December 23, be feted with a rendition of Happy Birthday to you. Though it did not measure up to the melodious solo performances by Mr. Happy Birthday-to-You Richard L. Walker, it did very well. Dr. Rogers, left, seem quite pleased with the attention. Others in the photo are Councillor Charles Grimsley, City Clerk Rhonda Loy, Mayor Mark Harris, and City Attorney Marshall Loy. City Councillor Linda Waggener is obscured by Councillor Flowers. KY Afield Outdoors: Quail on the Rise in 2015

A report on the progress of the restoration of the northern bobwhite quail is due in early 2015 from the small game biologists with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. The quail focus areas scattered across Kentucky show marked increase in quail populations. The quail report is one of the things to look for from the wildlife division of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife in 2015.
