Christmas Lights: Greensburg, KY
2014-12-25 - Downtown Greensburg, KY - Photo by Larry Smith. I feel honored to have been in the same graduating class as Ron Jones, whose genius guided the Christmas lighting for the City of Greensburg, KY this Christmas. This scene is on the south side of the square, in front of the Woodson Lewis Building. If you didn't get to see, I hope you do. I haven't seen prettier Christmas lighting this year. Christmas: Poinsettias and a coal oil lamp
2014-12-25 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM . Wherever we might go, Poinsettias will always remind us of Fortune Street, and the time when Roseland, next door, was the Poinsettia Capital of South Central Kentucky, when the tunnel greenhouse was one of he busiest places in town with buyers.

2014-12-25 - Knifley, Adair Co., KY - Photo by finder. This playful fella showed up on Christmas Eve in the Knifley area. Appears to be a yearling. Black with white socks, tail tip and breast plate. Doesn’t seem to want to leave. Got word Monday, December 29, 2014, not to worry about the pup. He's got a home.

Epicurean Kentuckian: Christmas morning food
2014-12-25 - Photo Ed Waggener. Even the peasants eat well on Christmas: Christmas morning food included a bit of ham, biscuit, store-bought hash brown potato, red pepper, broccoli, hot black coffee and cinnamon apples in an iron skillet - and a new favorite any meal dessert: Amish canned peaches from South Fork or Black Gnat. - EW

Kentucky Color: Rowetown's Central Park
2014-12-25 - Rowetown, South Adair County, KY - Photo By Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District Forester. This is a view of lush, green, wooded, wintertime meadows in the midst of the Rowetown Community. Although it is often times hard to find a hard and definite line between rural communities, I guess you could say that Rowetown was and is a suburb of Toria. The community once had it's own one room school and a population of hardworking residents who were the epitome of subsistence farmers. - Billy Joe Fudge
