2014-12-31 - KY 92 near Jamestown Resort & Marina, Russell Co., KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM. Don't know how this stone shelter came to be, but the rock patterns are interesting, to say the least. It's located above Jamestown Resort & Marina - we still call it Jamestown Boat Dock - in a fabulously beautiful lakeside setting. - Linda Waggener

Signs of our time: $1.99 Gas up ahead
2014-12-30 - Speedway, 716 Bomar Heights, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Gas at the Speedway in Columbia was $1.99, mirroring the prices at local Five-Star outlets on Monday, December 29, 2014. Prices were generally 18 cents higher in Russell Springs/Jamestown. (Adair County-think: In Adair County where Abraham Lincoln got one vote for President, the blame for the high price of $1.99 can be placed squarely at the feet President Barack Obama, the man many here would hold responsible for causing the drought which brought about the collapse of the Mayan Civilization (Story about the collapse of Mayan Civilization, the Kardashians, sinkholes, kudzu, and of course, ebola.)

Happy Tail: Even Darryl, our resident trouble-finder, got gifts
2014-12-28 - Sugarfoot Farm Rescue, 860 Sparksville Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Peg Schaeffer. If any dog should have gotten coal in his stocking for Christmas it should have been Darryl, our resident Beagle. If there's trouble to be found - he finds it. But doesn't he look innocent in this photo with his pretty Christmas collar? Luckily Santa brought him and the rest of the dogs lots of presents. - Peg Schaeffer
