At the Tebbs Bend Bridge site Sat 3 Dec 2015

2015-01-03 - Tebbs Bend Road, Taylor County, KY - Photo by Alan Reed.
Larry Smith, above, in front of the north approach to the Tebb's Bend Bridge, this morning, Saturday, January 3, 2014. The wooden flooring is now gone and the old bridge is closer to being taken down and given to a nature conservancy group which will reconstruct it nearby. A new bridge of similar design is expected to be installed in 2015. " The bridge is being custom made, with aesthetic design input from knowledgeable historians, including Taylor County historian, author and teacher Betty Jane Gorin Smith," Larry Smith said earlier. Taylor County Judge Executive Eddie Rogers and Fiscal Court are in charge of the upgrade.

The Mysterious Black Cat

2015-01-03 - Fortune Street,  Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener.
The Black Cat is so aloof we wonder if it has a home. It regularly passes by, and begs for food, it makes eye contact from a distance, but never offers to talk the way others do. It takes cautiously takes handouts, but then, the best fed neighborhood cats to that. We always wonder what the rest of its story is. A pampered pet of one or more families? Or a super survivor? - CM
