Adair County Judge Executive Mike Stephens administered oaths of office for Kentucky Sheriffs for Sheriff Harrison Moss. Moss affirmed the constititional oath, and in addition the Sheriff's Oath. His wife, Shirley Moss, is beside him; the Bible is held by his son, Matthew Moss. Mike Stephens takes oath of office as 25th Adair CJE

Circuit Judge Judy Vance administered the oath of office to Michael Leee Stephens at the Swearing-In Ceremonies held Sunday, January 4, 2015. With him are members of his family. After this ceremony, the new County Judge Executive administered oaths of office to most of the county and city officials and school board members. CJE Stephens will preside, for the first time, over an organizational Fiscal Court this morning at 8:30amCT. Kentucky Court of Appeals Judge Debra Lambert administered the oath of office to Circuit Judge Judy Vance, and above, District Judge Michael Loy. Seated behind her is Bro. District Judge Michael Loy sworn in for third term

District Judge Michael Loy spoke with Columbia VFW Post Commander Joe Hare after taking the oath of office for a third term as 29th Judicial District serving Adair and Casey Counties. His son, J.T. had the honor of holding the Bible on this occasion. In 2007, his wife, Robin Cheatham Loy had that honor, while hold daughter Amber as a baby. Amber had the honor in 2011. Robin Loy is hold their youngest, Ashley, who would be next in line for the job in 2019. Since the first election, Judge Loy has faced no opposition.

Circuit Judge Judy Vance takes oath of office

Holding her hand on the Bible held by her oldest daughter, Courtney, Circuit Judge Judy Vance was the first official to take the office of 29th Judicial Circuit Judge for a second term. Judge Vance was elected in 2010, over strong opposition for the judgeship, which serves Adair and Casey County. In 2014, she was re-elected without opposition. The oath was administered by Kentucky Court of Appeals Judge Debra Hembree Lamberth. It was the first time an Appellate Judge had attended an inaugural event in Adair County, Circuit Court Clerk Dennis Loy said in his opening remarks. Mr. Loy can be seen in the right background. At left, background, is Columbia City Councillor Charles Grimsley.
