My Metcalfe County High School friend Jackie Coffey, wife of Fifth District, wondered why my husband held the Bible during the Swearing In Ceremony and she hadn't, so Mr. Coffey agreed to to restage the oath and Jackie agreed to this photo, for the record. To Billy Green's great credit, in an otherwise perfectly orchestrated event, he had been told of this new procedural option. In past years, when Magistrates, Council Members, Deputies and School Boards were sworn in as a group, it hadn't made any difference. - LINDA WAGGENER, Columbia City Council.
