Site Preparation continues on Taylor Co. Primary School site

Looking like a pair of monster sized Tonka toys, a huge Trackhoe and a an equally huge Volvo earthmover continued work at the construction site for the new Taylor County Primary School, located at Boardway & Ingram Avenue in Campbellsville.

Steve Branscum speaks at Taylor Primary School groundbreaking

Steve Branscum, President of Branscum Construction Co. of Russell Springs, KY, address those at a groundbreaking for a new Taylor County Primary Center being constructed on Broadway & Ingram Avenue. Seated are members of the Taylor County Board of Education Tony Davis, Lillian Clark, Deanna Hunt, David Hall, and Jim Cheatham. The groundbreaking took place this morning, Thursday, January 22, 2015. The school will house pre-school through second grade. It will be be a performance based school, which will unique in the nations. Education Commmissioner Terry Holladay is coming. Branscum Construction has two school projects going at the same time. The other is the new Taylor County High School being built north of Campbellsville. Superintendent Roger Cook called today a "Red Letter Day in Taylor County." The massive building program is credited in large part to the passage of a Nickel Tax. "We raised $6 million locally and got $25 million in state grants," Superintendent Cook said. - Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications
