Pennies for Patients Fundraiser at ACPC

The students at Adair County Primary Center, 158 Col. Casey Drive, Columbia, KY 42728, are raising funds to fight childhood cancer. The Pennies for Patients campaign raises funds to fight Leukemia and Lymphoma through the American Cancer Society. Students will be collecting funds through Friday, January 23. We hope those in our community who are asked will lend their support to this worthy cause.

Pictured above at the kick off assembly for Pennies for Patients are Jaiden Warren, Reese Bardin, Piper Kemp, Jagger Kemp, Addie Bennett, Jodie Wethington, Arraya Phelps, Panash Gecheo, Gage Bernard and Cadence Laguero.

City Council hears first reading to accept Holladay Place streets

Mayor Curtis Hardwick, center, presided at the meeting Thu 15 Jan 2015 to hear a first reading of an ordinance to accept the paved sections of Dohoney Trace, Patricia Trail and Corporate Drive into the City of Columbia City Street System. Seated, clockwise are Councillors Dr. Ron Rogers and Charles Grimsley; City Clerk Rhonda Loy; (Mayor Hardwick); City Attorney Marshall Loy, Councillors Craig Dean and Craig Lasley. Chief Jason Cross and members of the media were also present. No vote was needed on the first reading, only a quorum to hear it. - EW
