ACHS hosts GRIT Regional Synergy Meeting

Today the Adair County High School hosted a large group of high school educators from across the state during the Regional Synergy Meeting. ACHS shared their innovative GRIT Program they helped produce and pilot this year. The program goes along with the Leader in Me philosophies but is structured for high school students. As you can see from the photo the student participation part of the day was a huge HIT! - Shamarie Claiborne

Appalachian Regional Commision changes status for Adair Co.

Adair County Judge Executive Mike Stephen told the Columbia/Adair County Economic Development Authority this morning, Tue 20 Jan 2015, that recent changes in status has been good news and bad news. The good news is that the county is better off economically and is now "at risk" instead of "distressed", but grants will be leaner because the conditions have improved.. The CJE gave the information at this morning's meeting of the Columbia/Adair County Econommic Development Authority, which he and Deputy CJE Holly Grimsley attended.

Adair County Fair Catalog takes 1st place in state competitin

This past weekend at the Kentucky Association of Fair and Horse Show's 68th annual convention the Adair County Fair & Horse Show won first place for their 2014 Adair County Fair & Horse Show Catalog in the Class B Catalog Division, Glossy/Slick Finish. The judging criteria is based on overall appearance, organization, information, and other miscellaneous items in the catalog. Pictured are; Front row - Marshall Judd, Brandy Held, Jennifer Carter, Amanda Davis, Susan Perkinson, and Jean Hadley. Back Row - Harriet Hadley, Dan Held, Fay Davidson, James Curry, Billy Pickett, Randy Hadley, and Aaron Hadley.

Miss Adair Co. Fair name 1st Runner Up at State Pageant

The Adair County Fair is so proud of our Miss Adair County Fair Shelbie Pettey for such an amazing job, she was outstanding this past weekend in Louisville at the Miss Kentucky County Fair Pageant. Out of 92 girls she rocked the stage and came in first runner up. In the two days she was judged in interview, swimsuit, and even gown.
