Sheriff Moss presents $32,115.58 excess fees check

Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss presented a check in the amount of $32,115.58 as a return of excess fees for the year 2014. The sheriff's office is one of two fee-based offices which collects fees as prescribed by law, has expenses regulated by Fiscal Court, and returns excess fees to the general treasury each year. LWC actors have roles in Last Train to Nibroc

Jeremy Cloyd, who plays the role of Raleigh, is a senior studying theater and English at Lindsey Wilson College (LWC). Brenna Murray portrays the role of May. She is a 2014 theater and communication graduate of Lindsey Wilson College and has studied musical theatre in New York City with George Salazar and Anthony Wayne. Last Train to Nibroc will play at Carnegie Community Arts Center (old library building), 107 N. Main Street, on Fridays and Saturdays, February 13 and 14, and 20 and 21, 2015, at 6pmCT/7pmET, and on Sundays, February 15 and 22, 2015 at 1pmCT/pmET. The theatre is wheelchair accessible with a ramp at the back of the building. Tickets are $12 per person; $8 per student. Adair Aerospace team at Bowman Field Hangar 7

Adair County High School representatives were on hand at Bowman Field's "Hangar 7" on Tuesday, February 10, 2014 for the Open House and National Launch Reception of the National Air and Space Education Institute. "Aerospace" is the newest addition to the career pathways available to students at ACHS, with the first classes set to begin in August, 2015. The program will provide a wide array of opportunities for ACHS students ranging from aircraft mechanics and repair, manufacturing, piloting, airport operation and more. Kentucky is now third in the nation in aircraft parts manufacturing, a multi-billion dollar industry that exceeds the auto manufacturing. The program is underwritten by NASA Kentucky, Eastern KY University, Morehead State University, University of Kentucky, and AOPA. ACHS is Kentucky's 27th high school to join the consortium and the first since the Air and Space Institute expanded to a national initiative. Birds of Kentucky: Yellow bellied sapsucker on Greenbriar Ridge Road

Two Blue Raider wrestlers recognized for national championships

Lindsey Wilson College's most recent wrestling national champions were celebrated Tuesday night before the LWC-St. Catharine (KY) College meet at Biggers Sports Center. LWC assistant wrestling coach Abe Cross, center, recognized Jameel Bryant of St. Petersburg, FL, left, and Joe Cozart of Brandon, FL. At the 2014 NAIA Wrestling National Championships, Cozart won the national title in the at 157-pound class and Bryant won in the national title at the 184-pound class. It was Bryant's second NAIA national title. At Tuesday night's meet, LWC won 36-10 to claim the Mid-South Conference title. LWC - who is ranked No. 12 in the NAIA - finishes the regular season with a 13-7 overall dual record, including 5-0 in the conference.
