2015-01-25 - Shelby County, KY - Photo by Pen. Hailey Elizabeth had the highest honor in snow man building - placing the carrot nose just right. The snow fell, and the snow man was built, on her request; parentally granted because Sunday would be her birthday. - Granddad

The Shelby Co. Snowman of 24 Jan 2015 - I
2015-01-25 - Shelby County, KY - Photo by Pen. It was an undertaking of epic proportions and before one gets the idea that it is a Little Red Hen fable, the young men in the background, like all Waggener men, had already done a lot of the heavy lifting - see the sweat - and were letting Hailey hone her snow shoveling techniques as her mother, Amy, supervised. - Granddad

Cane Valley Ads in the ACN, 22 April 1908: Massed ads
2015-01-25 - Cane Valley, KY - Photo from the collection of Mike Watson. These three ads from Cane Valley were run side by side by side in the 22 April 1908 Adair County News of almost 107 years ago. One might wonder if the massed ads were the idea of the editors or if the Cane Valley businessmen chose to collaborate to make a bigger statement for the thriving community.
