The Dudgeon Company at this point was owned by three widely respected mercantile families. Help would be appreciated on the "rubberrod roofing." Anybody got any idea. Adair County still has one stove, tin & gutter fabricator, but is there a single broom maker now?

What a difference at noon time Saturday, 24 Jan 2015 from a snowy mid morning and scarcely a hint of it by noon. These horses were at a hay feeder along Randolph-Summer Shade Road in Metcalfe County, KY.

These three ads from Cane Valley were run side by side by side in the 22 April 1908 Adair County News of almost 107 years ago. One might wonder if the massed ads were the idea of the editors or if the Cane Valley businessmen chose to collaborate to make a bigger statement for the thriving community. While two of them compete in a few areas, the stores offered a very different services and merchandise.
