Paper ballots inspection underway
 2015-02-13 - Basement, Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. The Adair County Board of Elections unsealed the voting machines used in the Tuesday, November 4, 2015 General Elections in the city, including paper ballots for Mayor of the City of Columbia. Present, above shortly after 9amCT were Deputy Sheriff T.J. Bray, representing ex officio member Harrison Moss, Becky Rogers, Board of Elections members Billy Curry (R) and Ben Loy (D) far left, former Clerk Joyce Rodgers, Adair County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison Corbin (hidden), Clerk Lisa Greer, Daryl Branham, Write in Candidate for Mayor Ben Arnold, and Deputy Court Clerk Nadalie Inscho. The process was approximately one third complete at the time. Columbia Mayor Curtis Hardwick was notified of the process, but was not present. The examination was ordered by Circuit Court Judge Judy Vance, who also set a bench trial for Thu 26 Feb 2018.

Robert Flowers honored for service at utilities district
 2015-02-13 - CAUD headquarters, 109 Grant Lane, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Outgoing Columbia/Adair County Utilities Chairman Robert Flowers was presented a plaque by Tim Baker, who was elected chairman of the board at the Thu 12 Sep 2015 regular monthly meeting of the board. Flowers has served on utilities boards, starting with the old Columbia Utilities Commission, for a total of 20 years. From left: CAUD General Manager Lenny Stone, Commissioner David Jones, (Flowers), Commissioner Barry Stotts, (Baker), Commissioner Larry Russell Bryant, and CAUD Board Attorney Marshall Loy. Newly appointed Commissioner Mike Newton, Plant Operations Manager of Lindsey Wilson College, will join the board to replace Flowers. At the meeting, GM Lenny Stone announced that the merger of the utilities is complete.
