Birds of Kentucky: Beautiful Mourning Dove visitor

2015-03-23 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener. Rare beauty - in a not so rare bird. Mourning Doves are frequent visitors in our yard. We never tire of their beauty or of their friendly nature. Somehow, they seem too gentle for their own good, too easy prey for cats and predator birds. They seem the embodiment of the Christian message - a true Jesus bird - although that term has already been taken by a bird which almost walks on water. It knows where the lily pads are! - CM

Stream Diversion project days - no more than weeks from start

2015-03-23 - Fairground Street at Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
The long awaited stream diversion project, channeling Town Creek to the left of the white building in the left background, shows signs of being ready to start. Consideration now in attention to the condemnation action for right-away across the Parson Heirs been continues to be for the work not to interfere with Lindsey Wilson Spring Semester travel or with Adair County High School busses traffic, from information received. When the work is completed, the Big Ditch will be covered, improving the appearance of the intersection, and flooding of the Campbellsville Street Roadway and business property should be a thing of the past.
