Scenic Adair Co., KY: Putman County - it just greens out 2015-03-02 - Putman County, Adair Co. District One, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Searching for winter pictures Saturday, we spotted this double bank of giant draped icicles, the kind which tempt one to stop the car and see what happens when one is pulled down. Fearing possibly lethal consequences, the urge was quelled. The bank is along Sulphur Creek - to the best of our knowledge - and is in the Putman County section of Adair County. The late Renaissance Man, Dr. W.K. Neat, Varmintologist and Man of Science, and well versed in all matters of travel, was once ask to define the limits of the county within a county. "Oh," he said, "you'll know when you get there. It just greens out at you." That's how we found the magical, mythical kingdom of a Saturday, 28 Feb 2015, on a Know Your County Better Tour.
