A boxful of puppies: In at GRAS Wednesday, sold out by Friday!
2015-03-28 - Green River Animal Shelter, 455 Appleby Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. "The boxful of puppies are all adopted :). Two of them were adopted the day they came in! The orphans have been weaned from the bottle and have went to stay at Barren county where they now have a large puppy room to play in until they are ready for adoption." - KIM SALLEE, Director, Green River Animal Shelter. The little girls came in on Wednesday, March 24, 2015. Kim sent the note above last night - so fast we aren't sure that more than two were ever christened with a shelter name. We're anxious to follow the story on the orphan puppies. It's tempting to just drive over the Barren County and pay them a visit. - EW

Kentucky Color - March Lilies
2015-03-28 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District Forester, Kentucky Division of Forestry. I might be proven wrong but I suggest that the yellow like this one is the original or vintage March Lily. I'm kinda partial to vintage plants. That could be because I've spent a major portion of my life among the "natives", so to speak. - Billy Joe Fudge

Winter and Snow removal was tough on Lora Road
2015-03-27 - Magisterial District 4, Adair Co., KY - Photo by Innocent iPhone photographer. Lora Road was impassable for a time following snow removal. A grader blade cut to close, scraping off chip and seal along with snow. County road crews have repaired the road and spread gravel, but the difficulty in restoring the road can be seen in the corduroy tracks which continue to deepen as traffic bounces up, rather smoothly climb up, the steep incline.

Sweet dog found 11 miles out on Liberty Road 27 Mar 2015
2015-03-27 - KY 206/Liberty Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Brandy Loy. My son found this very sweet girl 11 miles up KY 206. She seems to be a lab mix, fawn in color, and an older dog. She was injured by another dog but has been nursed back to good health. She is very well trained! (Plays fetch, sits, shakes) Great with our children and simply precious! She misses her home! Please help us find her owners! Contact us with any info you may have as to where this dog may have come from! 270-634-1193. BRANDY LOY.
