What a grapevine(s) on Grassy Springs Road, Adair Co., KY

2015-04-05 - Grassy Springs Road, McGaha, Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM iPhone photo.
It looks like a two or one anaconda's, wrapped, looped, knotted, twisted through the trees. It can be seen on Grassy Springs Road, District One, Adair County, KY, where the ranking official is the Honorable Harold Burton, Magistrate. This photo was a drive by shooting, can tell from the photo whether just how many grapevines there are. - LINDA

What a retired pipeliner does, after OD'ing on Bro. Haynes' preaching?

2015-04-05 - Millerfield Cafe, 1900 Millerfield Road (Adair Co.) Russell Springs, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Eb Arnold a retired pipeliner, lead guitar in Sam Tucker's Country Band, formerly of Egypt and now of Roley, KY, rode over to Millerfield Cafe after attending church at Plum Point Baptist, one of the great congregations in South Central Kentucky. This is what is was able to do after being pumped up on Bro. Lewis Haynes' good preaching on Easter Sunday - maybe something he can do even without it. (Then again, may it is a Democrat Party thing.) This was about the seventh time he performed the gymastics, before the right one photo was taken. He's only 81 years old, which may explain his agility. The scene is looking toward Webb's Cross Roads, along KY 76 Millerfield Road in Adair County. - ED WAGGENER Paired photo: See The Amazing Eb Arnold: Impromptu song left over from Easter service

Millerfield Cafe is open again

2015-04-05 - 1900 Millerfied Cafe, 1900 Millerfield Road (Adair Co.) Russell Springs, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Emma McDonald, left and LeSara Pierce, have reopened the restaurant in The Millerfields. Easter Sunday, 5 Apr 2015, they hosted an Easter Dinner which was free for people in the community. The restaurant, recommended by Mr. Joe Bailey, is open 7 days a week. One couple arrived early for dinner and chose their grilled shrimp. "It's as good as anything you might find in Lexington or anyplace else, Gail Holmes, of the Millerfield Holmes Mill family. Joe Bailey recommends it highly. Emma McDonald worked at the Sano Store for nine months prior to buying the Millerfield Cafe.

History query: Could this have been an Easter scene, back when?

2015-04-05 - 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo from family photo collection.
The answer is probably not. I only faintly remember that some of the Christmas Decorations were left up year round. And I can see signage which would date the photo. The courthouse, then red brick with white trim, is another 'tell' for those with better memories than I. The scene is looking up Town Hill, at the 'front door' of the historic structure. Comments are welcome. - ED WAGGENER
Comment Sun 5 Apr 2015: Mike Watson: Suggests Chistmasy Courthouse dates.
