Epicurean Kentuckian: Chicken Jhol Momos
2025-05-27 - Cincinnatti, OH - Photo by Pen. Nepal, in the northern border of India, shares some culinary culture with both Indian and Chinese cuisines, and this dish highlights the influences. Momos are filled dumplings, which are also common in many regions of China. Jhol can mean soup in Nepali. Chicken Jhol Momos are delicately steamed chicken-stuffed dumplings served in a complexly spicy aromatic broth with strong notes of ginger and turmeric. These came from Everest Kitchen, just north of Jungle Jim's International Market on Dixie Highway in northern Cincinnati.
