Wildflowers of Kentucky: Fleabane, Adair County, KY

2015-05-04 - So Busy enjoying failed to note location - Photo by Linda Waggener .
Yesterday we took a Sunday drive to Eunice, had a picnic at Tabernacle Cemetery, and enjoyed on of the most beautiful days ever for wildflowers. Fleabane, above has been in bloom for a few days now, and was glorious yesterday. Whole fields were solid with the "miniature daisies" as we called them before Bro. Paul Patton identified them for us some years back. Earlier in the week, Ed insisted he remembered the name, and, thinking I knew, said "Wait, wait, don't tell me," like the the radio program; two days later he said, "I know it starts with a "ph." And sure enough, it was "fleabane." - LW

Living by Faith Community Church: Improvements underway

2015-05-03 - 3041 Edmonton Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Bro. Bobby Withers and the congregation of Living by Faith Community Church are transforming the campus of the one-time Union Church, - later Union-Presbyterian Church, later Gradyville United Methodist Church - for the church being planted by the fellowship of Living by Faith Community Church. Above, the grove has been restored by removing unhealthy trees and harvesting some for sale as timber and for utilization as firewood. The congregation is also conducting a Yard Sale - but not today, not Sunday, May 3, 2015. The sale started with miscellaneous items, plus over 100,000 books - with a closeout of them through May 10, 2015 and a sale on bookshelves until the approximately 750 shelves are sold. This afternoon should be a good day to drive by and catch a glimpse of the changes underway.
