Tebb's Bend Bridge rests in river, awaiting move to Homeplace

Welding Fabrication Team recognized at School Board Meeting

Barney Taylor, welding instructor at the Adair County Career Tech Center, told the Board of Education that the young men who make up the Welding Fabrication Team are history making. The team won first place in Regional Skills USA competition in Somerset, KY and will compete in Louisville later this year. The team is Chad Scholl, Dusty Claiborne, and Joshua Grant. The team will compete at the State Skills USA competition next week. On the far left is Dakota Price who has already become a certified welder qualified to work with Kentucky Department of Transportation. - SHAMARIE CLAIBORNE.

Dean of Students: Healthy Kids Partnership best plan yet

Dean of Students Robbie Harmon told the Adair County Board of Education, after it approved the partnership agreement presented by Dr. Eric Loy of Cumberland Family Health Centers to provide Healthy Kids Clinics at the Adair County Schools District, that the work he did on it was the most significant thing he has been a part of in his career thus far, and that he does not expect to see anything of greater importance in the future.

In Search of Mt. Tussell

While in search of the existing Industrial Site, level some years ago for an ill-fated spec building which was purchased by the local industrial authority, delivered to the site with only three walls and later declared surplus - whatever happened to it, by the way - these two gentleman stopped by asked me what I was doing. I told them, and asked what they were doing there. The passenger, former Sixth District Magistrate Joe Rogers, said "We're looking for Mt. Tussell." His chauffeur, Alfred "Hootie" Corbin, who doesn't have the same reputation saving need to find Mt. Tussell as Mr. Rogers, said he was only along to help Joe Rogers farm. Mr. Rogers' Harmon spread adjoins the GRCP, and a tract of Mr. Hootie Corbin's lands adjoin the park on the other side. Mt. Tussell, for which the road is named, remains undiscovered.
