Something Big going on: Mark Twain from Columbia Bypass
2015-08-30 - 623 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM photo. It was a perfect evening for music, despite the warnings of rain. Thousands of visitors to Columbia were welcomed to ACHS Football Stadium and the newly transformed Adair County School District Campus for a night of music at the Mark Twain Marching Band Festival. The event is now an even greater visual treat with the fabulous views of Adair County countryside from the top of the campus, in addition to the thrill of seeing and hearing great performances. As it turned out, it would have been hard to ask for better weather. Attendance figures haven't been released yet, but those are always impressive. Photo Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 6:09pmCT from Adair County Veterans Memorial Highway/the Columbia Western Bypass. - EW

Epicurean Kentuckian: DIY Marshmallow Cereal
2015-08-29 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo By Pen. It boggles the minds of some 14 year olds that we can put computers in our pockets and fly cameras to Pluto, but we still can't buy a box of dehydrated, chalky, multicolored marshmallows to eat for breakfast. Graham took it upon himself to separate the faux-wheat from the faux-chaff in a box of Froot Loops with Marshmallows, to provide the breakfast that modern corporate science can't or won't.
