The Lewises at Lewis Gro., Summersville, Green Co. KY
2015-05-29 - 5264 Hodgenville Road, Summersville, Green Co., KY - Photo by Larry Smith, FM 99.9 The Big Dawg, FM 92.7 the WAVE. Steve, Leon Sr & Leon Jr.: Leon Jr. in Lewis' Grocery, Summersville, KY. Leon Sr. is getting the hang of fixing sandwiches - he's been at it for about a half a century, after his dad Holman Lewis put him in business back in the 1960's. Leon, Jr. said, he came out to escape work in Columbia and to get his Dad to get one of Dad's famous Sandwich. Leon Sr. fixed it. And he me a bologna sandwich for me. He slices the best bologna in Greensburg - or anywhere in the world. I had gone in to see if they had the Republican vote recounted. Lewis Grocery is Republican headquarters, in Summersville. "I told him if my dad F.H. (Fayette Holman) Smith were alive he would have said, "Yeah they're going to have the recount at up at Republican headquarters,' and he'd be talking about Lewis' Grocery. In Columbia, they just know Leon, JR. as "Leon," but in Summersville, he's either "Leon, Jr." or "Junior."

Riding after the Rain - After Bourbon & Coburg Tour
2015-05-28 - 7393 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Joe Wall, and Tim Hamilton (front), sat out the Thursday shower in Coburg, KY, having a late lunch at A & M Farmers Market, reading Just for A Smile News, and talking with Norvel Farris and others at the store until the rain let up. They had just come from a stop at Maker's Mark in Loretto, KY, on a Bourbon Tour which included Clermont and Bardstown. Tim Hamilton rides a White Honda Goldwing, out of Columbus, Lowndes County, MS, and Wall is from Starkville, in Oktibbeha County, MS. His ride of choice is a Valkyrie. They were headed for Lynchburg, TN and the Jack Daniels distillery and then to their favorite - the George Dickel distillery in Tullahoma. Both said they might come back this way again. They try not to do Interstates, and KY 55 was to their liking, as was the pulled pork sandwiches they ate at A & M and were touting to other diners in the restaurant. Their wives should know they are great ambassadors for Mississippi. - EW
