Early paddlers enter Russell Creek at the ad hoc launch site by the Adair County Waste Water Plant near the Columbia Russell Creek Bridge on Campbellsville Street. Soon a permanent Paddle Trail launch site will be complete on Waterworks Street in Columbia, at a to be named Water Park. It awaits demolition completion, now in progress by local contractor Pyles Excavating.
