Gas Prices 30 May 2015: Lebanon, $2.39.9; Columbia, $2.79.9

2015-05-31 - Lebanon, KY - Photo by Junior Stotts.
Mike Ellis wrote earlier this morning that he had found gas 20 cents gallon per gallon less than Columbia, in Campbellsville. That's just 20 miles away. Junior Stotts sends this photo, from 20 miles further up the road, where the gas is 40 cents per gallon lower. Does anybody know? Is there a pattern here. At a penny a mile less per mile, how far north does one have to travel to get free gas? Probably not. But it does make you wonder just how cheap gas is elsewhere. - CM

World Traveller puts Columbia, KY on list of 1001 Places to see

2015-05-31 - Myanmar - Photo Nanette Char.
World Traveller Nanette Char, sends this "Bagan, Myanmar is home to thousands of Buddhist temples. The view at sunset is stunning and entrancing." She had a list of 1,000, and, after getting Lost in Columbia, on the internet and receiving an invitation to visit Columbia, KY, on her travels, she now has a list of 1001 places to see. Columbia, KY, is No. 1001 - but they don't all come in order, so she may be here sooner than later. She wrote, "I think it is important that any international visitor see small home towns in addition to big cities," and promised to let us know when she arrives in Columbia, KY. She originally wrote to ask about a "Spring/Summer 2015 article, 'Hippocratic Overture' by Paul Hond." She was looking for an article on magazine.columbia.edu, about students at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons getting ready to practice. She found the article at The Hippocratic Overture
