New lights come on in New Columbia
2025-03-22 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Vicky Pike of Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch. Needed for night driving safety for a long time, the new lighting is in place on Hwy 61 in the Walmart Center area of New Columbia. Miss Vicky writes of her neighborhood addition, "And we have light, but not all. There's a minor problem on light five on the right side heading south.
As it got darker the lights really showed out. Thanks to Mayor Pam for seeing this much needed project happened for our community."

Her mission is to give to family, friends and neighbors
2025-03-21 - Taylor County, KY - Photo from Wanda Washington. Vanessa Taylor has meager means and her own aliments but she is always available for friends, neighbors and church family. Many know that if they need transportation to appointments, medical care or even to go to the grocery store they can call Ms. Vanessa and she will get you there.
And if she can't take you at that time she will call around to get you where you need to go. On top of transporting members of her community, Vanessa has fed so many. When she cooks to feed her family she seems to find a way to provide plates for others. Click 'read more' for the full story.
