Glory Days for Catalpas 2015: At Columbia Best Western

2015-06-02 - Columbia Best Western Inn - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Linda spotted this one, a special tree at Columbia Best Western. We always imagine what a visitor would think when they wake up in Columbia, and decided they would be quite pleased with the coolish gray day morning yesterday. And probably hungry for the great food in the area - we would have wanted country ham. But that may be because we had dinner at the Circle R, right around the corner, and weren't surprised that just as in the J.D. Harper Glory Days of that famed restaurant, Cousin Bob selected country ham and got the most beautiful center slice one could imagine.

(Ad) Epicurean Kentuckian: Tampico Day at Coburg at A & M Trading Post

2015-06-02 - A & M Trading Post, at Coburg, once Tampico-on-the Pike. 7393 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY 270-384-0117. Hours: 5:30am-6:30pm Monday through Saturday. Non-Smoking. - Photo by Melissa Moore.
Today, Tuesday, June 2, 2015, we're having Fajitas, STEAK or CHICKEN FAJITAS with fresh all natural meat, $7.99, or make it a combo for $9.00. A coincidence, but in a culinary way, it pays homage to Coburg's once-upon-a-time name of Tampico-on-the Pike. Fresh, homemade ingredients, authentically spicy and delicious, always cooked to order give a taste even residents of Mexico, at A & M Trading Post, conveniently located on KY 55 between Campbellsville & Columbia for meet-ups in the Tri-Counties of Taylor-Adair and Green Counties. -Melissa Moore & Albert Cundiff
