Squarecrow: High level of detail seen on second look
2015-10-15 - Entrance Corner, Jamestown Street & Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. A second look is often needed to realize the extraordinary detail and artistic skills in the Squarecrows which will be on display at least through Halloween and Treats on the Town, Saturday, October 31, 2015. It isn't totally evident on a quick pass, but Pam Spires Squarecrow includes a screen window frame and the art was painstakingly painted on that difficult "canvas." A study of the first Squarecrows, their nuances, the subtle humor, the clever details and the realization of the skill set needed to produce the art make the remarkable displays all the more worthy of second looks. - EW
