Bible scholar Ben Witherington,
Amos Professor of New Testament for Doctoral Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary and on the doctoral faculty at St. Andrews University in Scotland, will be the guest lecturer for the January Bible Study Preview at Campbellsville University Thursday, August 6, 2015. He will lead the study of "Second Corinthians: The Church’s Ministry Handbook." Witherington will speak from 12:15pmCT/1:15pmET until 7pmCT/8pmET, at the Hawkins Athletic Complex, 205 Tiger Way, Campbellsville, KY. Registration ($15 including dinner) and fellowship begin at 11:30amCT/12:30pmET. Dinner hour will be 4:45pmCT/5:45pmET. The Columbia City Council voted to amend the the ordinance pertaining to the use of the Payroll Tax to put all revenues into the General Fund. The vote was 4-2, on a motion by Council Member Ron Rogers, with a second by Linda Waggener, (an early advocate of that plan); with council members Mark Harris and Craig Lasley joining in the affirmative. Council members Charles Grimsley and Craig Dean voted against the change. Larry Smith, taking an evening's stint as the ticket master at the Skyline Drive-In in Summersville, captured this dramatic scene as storm clouds moved over the the theatre tonight, Friday, June 19, 2015. Smith once ran the projector at the drive - way back when he was a teenager and lived across the street from it. He's now Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications.
