Strip for new KY 206 & KY 55 Intersection underway

Paving was completed Monday afternoon, July 20, 2015, and striping was underway when this photo was taken after 4pmCT. The road is scheduled to reopen Tuesday, July 21, 2015. It will have been closed 54 days for the renovation, which includes added turning lanes, a rerouting of Town Creek and runoff water from both sides of Fairground Street, and a new entrance to the Assisted Transportation Systems plant. - EW

Egypt Construction starts site work on new Sleep Inn Hotel

Tommy Grider, partner with the group building the new Sleep Inn Hotel on Patricia Trail, Holladay Place, Columbia, KY, called this morning to let the community know that the Sleep Inn Hotel is fully underway. Egypt Construction Company of Columbia, KY has equipment on the ground doing site work. Mr. Grider and partner and builder Terry Harvey will act as Construction Managers of the project. Mr. Grider said that the partners are expecting the project to be complete in approximately one year from today. - EW. Photo Monday, 20 Jan 2015.

Russell Family Medical Center, Russell Springs, Ky

The new Russell Family Medical Center on Steve Drive, a frontage road along US 127 in Russell Springs, is nearing completion. It is part of a large medical complex developing around the Russell County Hospital, and is part of the vast 21-unit network of Family Medical Center facilities and services developed by Dr. Eric Loy. In the seven county CM coverage area, in addition to this center, there are centers in Columbia, Burkesville, Greensburg, Jamestown, and Liberty.
