Scenic Russell County, KY: Contrails of the Cross

2015-07-24 - From Malachi Smokehouse Parking Lot, Russell Springs, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Could have been the result of OD-ing on pulled pork from Mike & Laura Harris' new BBQ restaurant, but it seems every day any day after supper there is a sign from cloud show over K-Mart in the western sky. Contrails left a perfect Christian cross up there earlier this week. If it isn't a phenomena, why don't the contrails taper away, instead of seeming to start and end as they do? There's a scientific explanation, of course; that's best left to men of science - Dr. Henry, or Dr. Downey or Dr. Burton. - EW
