Matt Bevin in Columbia, KY, with ACR Jailer Joey White
2015-11-04 - Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener (file photo). On Thursday, April 30, 2015, Joey White, Adair County Regional Jailer, greeted Matt Bevin, candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor, at the Adair County Republican Party Meet and Greeting/Gubernatorial Forum at Lindsey Wilson College, Thursday, 30 Apr 2015. At the time, Bevin was in slightly hostile territory at a time when most of the GOP establishment - then mostly Jamie Comer supporters - was making sure they weren't photographed with him. It was a tribute to his perseverance that the governor-elect soldiered on, made it through a trying night, continued his adept brand of one-on-one retail politics, won the Republican primary in a 87 vote landslide then won the general election is a somewhat bigger landslide. In the background seen between Mr. White and Bevin is LaGene Stephens Sexton, daughter of Adair CJE Mike Stephens, and far right, Adair County County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison Corbin.

Smooth Election Process
2015-11-03 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener. Sheriff Moss said it was a smooth election day in Adair County. All precincts were in within about an hour after the 6pmCT poll closings. In the counting room are, standing, Sheriff Moss; at the left table, clockwise, from front, J.C. Lasley; Board of Elections member Billy Curry, Republican; and Ben Loy, Democrat; Sheila Blair, then County Clerk Lisa Lee. At the computers are Nadalie Inscho, Vicky Hodge and Macy Feese. Not photographed, but receiving the ballots, were Sheila Hayes and Becky Rogers. Couriers between the basement counting room and the clerk's office upstairs were Brooklyn Coomer and Tabitha Denton. The final vote tally saw a Republican landslide in Adair County, with the Matt Bevin led slate winning every race in every precinct in Adair County, just as known Republican Murrell Burton had predicted on November 2, 2015. - EW

The Next to the Last Adair County Fair at 409 Fairground ST?
2015-11-03 - 413 Fairgound Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Jason Mardis, Aerial Concepts (c) 270-250-1867 drone photo . Memorabilia of the Adair County Fairgrounds at 409 Fairground is becoming more dear as the grounds transition to a new purpose. The board of directors of Lindsey Wilson College has announced that, whatever the outcome of sale negotiations with the VFW, the 2016 fair will take place here. The Jaycees who operate the fair seem determined to overcome huge obstacles to continue the fair in another location after that, and people who have watched the organization are betting that the Fair will continue, just fine. Jason Mardis took this photo during the 2015 Fair. Comments welcom - CM. Paired Photo. See also: Aerial View of 2015 Adair County Fair in session
