New Columbia/Adair County Trail Town kiosk in place

The kiosk with maps and basic information about Paddle Adair and walking the historic Downtown District is in place. The kiosk was constructed by Barney Taylor's Welding Class at the Career Center at Adair County High School. Installation of maps furnished by Neal Cundiff of the Lake Cumberland Area Development was done by Jelaine Harlow, center and Ellen Zornes, right, of the Columbia/Adair County Trail Towns USA Initiative, and with them left, Columbia City Council Member Linda Waggener. A Trail Towns USA certification ceremony is planned for 12pmCT, Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the Adair County Extension Agency, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY. The public is invited. - EW

Blake Whitlock, Hodgenville, will join Stamps Quartet

Music, the international language, was part of Campbellsville University's Day of Kingdom Advance church outreach Sunday, November 1 in Boyle County, KY. One member thanked CU Sound for bringing their music to First Baptist Church Danville and said with tears in his eyes, "my dad passed away in April but today your singing brought him back to me." Blake Whitlock, the 6-year veteran CU Sound bass singer from Hodgenville, Ky., made one of his last performances with the group. After performing while a student and after graduation in 2013, he is leaving CU Sound to join the Stamps Quartet which claims a 91-year history as the oldest male Southern Gospel quartet still singing in America today.

Kentucky first family-elect: Matt & Glenna Bevin & nine children

Tiffany Kessler, Republican Party co-chairman, sent this photo of the then primary candidate for GOP Senate nomination, for Matt Bevin and his wife Glenna and their nine children back in May 2014. Since then, the Governor-elect has won two victories, a 87 vote statewide primary election, and a much more comfortable November 3, 2015 general election.
