Wobbles is waiting at GRAS for a wonderful family to adopt him

2015-07-26 - Green River Animal Shelter, 455 Appleby Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Kim Sallee, Director, Green River Animal Shelter.
This sweet boy got nicknamed wobbles and he is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet! Unfortunately how he got this name is because he has "wobblers syndrome." It doesn't slow him down a bit, it just makes his back legs work differently than his front legs and honestly is quite cute to watch him walk and run. He doesn't deserve being stuck in a shelter and he would make someone such a great family pet. Please consider giving him a home. $50 adoption fee which covers his neutering cost. If Interested please contact Green River Animal Shelter at 270-385-9655 Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10am-5pmCT and Saturdays 10am-2pmCT. Phone 270-572-9943 after hours . Thanks, Kim Sallee--Director

Some will spot the Tillie right off, others will have to study a little longer. It may help to see the Paired photo at Can you spot the Tillie? to get an idea what she's up to.

Cattails in full bloom?

2015-07-26 - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM.
Cattails growing by the roadside just south of the Veteran's Memorial Bypass in Columbia are, what, in full bloom? At this stage they look like fuzzy brown hotdogs on the end of roasting sticks. Cattails love soggy ponds, marshes, bogs and shorelines so this rainy season has given them just what they need. In fall they will float away on the wind much like dandelions.
