Adair Co., KY Farm Scene: The mystery solved

2015-08-04 - Keltner Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener.
A many a call was made to get to the bottom of this. That hayfield with different size and different shapes of baled hay. We theorized it was 1) The work of aliens. 2) That it was the work of two or more tractors and balers. and/or 3) It was a farm implement demonstration or Nationally Sanctioned Bale-Off, and/or 4) It wasn't Bible, not sanctioned by Hezekiah and maybe a Biblical ortn't. Nick Roy, the county agent, theorized it was different hay for big cows and little ones. A call to Fred Rowe, Public Relations Officer at Rowe Farms, revealed that that yes, it was the work of aliens. That Larry Irvin had been called in from up on Burton Ridge, when an in-house analysis determined there was some very high quality, tasty hay needing to be Square Baled and stored for the fancier cows to eat later. The other hay was rolled by Fred Rowe. He said that there were just two tractors, two balers, just one sized Square Bale, just a few sizes of rolls. Mystery solved before we ask. - ED & LINDA WAGGENER
